Procedure Survey Vessel
To describe the activities and controls necessary to ensure that all necessary vessel Certificate are valid and up to date and that all necessary Survey are carried out as per the applicable Rules an Regulations in a timely controlled manner.

Responsibility Survey Vessel
The Master and the technical superintendent shall be responsible for services related to ship surveys such as the Docking Survey (DS), Periodical Survey (PS), (Mandatory Annual Survey, Intermediate Survey, Special Survey) and Occasional Survey if any.
It is essential to bear in mind that a Special Survey is, in many cases, arranged at the same time as DS, but a PS is generally arranged while the ship is afloat. In view of this, the following procedures for surveys (including statutory surveys) shall be distributed to the persons responsible in all departments on board.
Procedure Of Survey Vessel
it is important for us seafarers to know the procedure when conducting a ship survey, the following is the procedure for mensurpai ship.
1). Monitoring of Survey Status
The Master shall, be updated monthly on the survey class status from the office. The Master shall consult with the Technical Superintendent in charge at least 1 month before the due date of the survey concerning the necessary preparations.
The Superintendent(s) shall monitor the vessel monthly Certificate Status sent by the vessel (Form S-36A and Form S-36B) and check against the updated class survey status. The classification web-sites shall be accessed frequently to monitor the survey status.
2). Preparations for surveys
Preparations for surveys shall be developed, referring to the relevant international conventions and Rules of classification society (including the Guidance for Surveys).
The Master, Chief engineer and Chief Officer are to carry out operation tests of safety devices, verification tests. If there are any deficiencies it must be immediately rectified in order to ensure that it is in good working order so that the survey can be performed smoothly.
In the event that unusual circumstances in the vessels schedule do not allow a Survey to take place before the expiry date, the Superintendent responsible for the ship shall consult with the technical manager for application to the appropriate authority for an extension of the certificate / surveys item.
In such cases, the Superintendent will obtain an extension agreement in writing from the Authority and will immediately copy this to the Master of the vessel.
Prior to commencement of Special surveys and CAS (Condition Assessment Scheme) surveys, the superintendent in charge must prepare and submit the required survey questionnaire and survey plan where applicable timely as required.
3).Arrangement of surveyors’ attendance
The Superintendent in charge shall arrange with the appropriate authority for surveys to be carried out at the most convenient port before certificate expires.
The Superintendent(s) will inform the Master and Chief Engineer of arranged surveys and their schedules.
4).Conduct of the survey
The Master shall designate the person responsible in each department to witness surveys for the department concerned.
5).Reporting the completion of survey
The Master shall, upon completion of surveys, report the results immediately to the Technical Superintendent in charge. Furthermore, the Master shall forward copies of renewed or endorsed certificates and survey reports to the Technical Superintendent in charge.
On the completion of satisfactory survey of the ship, or its equipment as applicable, the applicable authority will arrange for a new Certificate / Survey Report to be issued confirming compliance with the appropriate Rule and Regulations.
